How To Build A Consistent Personal Brand - Work It Daily

Instructions to Build A Consistent Personal Brand - Work It Daily For such huge numbers of individuals, it appears to be a crazy plan to have an individual brand. Actually, we as a whole as of now have one. It probably won't be formal or something we consider constantly, however it is there. Thus, it's time we start truly characterizing what it means, and how to show it reliably over the web and, all things considered. Related: 7 Key Ways To Promote Your Personal Brand For Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, individual brand is the thing that individuals state about you when you're not in the room. And keeping in mind that Jeff is right on the money, it's somewhat hard to tell what individuals are stating about you when you're not there, along these lines, I want to discuss individual brand as the convergence of who you try to be, the manner by which you are seen by others, and who you truly are as an individual. An individual brand isn't lighten, or popular expressions or watchwords on a resume. It's more profound than that. You're more profound than that. Building the brand of YOU! The way to finding what you need is realizing what you need. A solid individual brand has obviously characterized objectives. They are likewise extremely clear about the abilities and experience that they groups and are obvious to such an extent that they have guides to help their achievements. A solid individual brand grasps qualities and shortcomings and attempts to expand on the qualities and lessen the shortcomings. The best close to home brands are unashamed in regards to their achievements, qualities, and shortcomings. At the point when you know who you seek to be, the manner by which you are seen and who you truly are, you should be steady in introducing that image in each aspect of your advanced, social, and work life. Which is the reason it is basic to be who you truly are. It is unreasonably debilitating to be somebody you aren't constantly! Getting your own image on point. To begin with, how about we talk about your advanced impression. Where do you post data about yourself on the web? My speculation is a great deal of spots. You have to investigate all the spots you can be discovered on the web and ensure that those profiles mirror your own image. Indeed, even in places like Facebook, you can in any case have some good times and act naturally while remaining on brand. Keep in mind, some portion of your own image is being who you truly are. That being stated, mind your pictures or alter your protection settings appropriately. You're likewise most likely on LinkedIn. When somebody takes a gander at your profile, do they get a full image of your own image? Are the gatherings you are a part up stepping stool up to who you try to be? What sort of substance would you say you are sharing or making? Which drives me to my next image hack: Curating incredible substance. All the things that you are enthusiastic about as an expert ought to be imparted to your system. Use Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, or whatever social instrument you wish to share incredible expert substance that underpins your own image. It is a superb method to be found and seen and it manufactures your image in an increasingly wide manner. I share a ton of substance about joy and profitability. I additionally share a great deal of substance about new businesses and the pursuit of employment. I additionally love to snicker and revere incongruity. These things are a lot of lined up with my own image. In any case, your image isn't just on the web. It is in your discussions with your group and supervisors. It is in plain view every single day you come to work and how you speak with your companions (psst â€" and the substance you share with them). It is in the inquiries you pose and the thoughts you share. Also, never at any point quit overseeing it. Like any brand it is living and changing and developing with you. You should put time in your image. To be certain you are acquiring and keeping up your image value, invest energy each quarter adding to your profiles. You should add new data to your LinkedIn profile. You ought to refresh your resume constantly. You ought to store your best work in an uncommon envelope on your PC in the cloud. Having a reliable and characterized individual brand is an incredible method to stick out. It is another approach to get things done and it requires some investment. Be that as it may, it is at last justified, despite all the trouble as you will locate that after some time, you become all the more recognizing about the work you accept on and the open doors you are pulled in to in light of the fact that you know explicitly what you look for from your profession and you just need things that will propel your own image. Designing a Technology First, Modern Workplace - Margaret Buj - Interview Coach

Designing a Technology First, Modern Workplace - Margaret Buj - Interview Coach In today’s world, we live in a much more technologically inclusive age. This has impacted and changed the way we shop, the way we travel and many more aspects of day to day life. However, one place it has really transformed is the workplace. More and more, businesses from small to corporate are embracing a more flexible, open and collaborative way of working. This can also be seen in their offices and work environments. But, how is this achieved, and also most importantly, what are the benefits of a business adopting a digital transformation strategy? This article hopes to answer those questions. Open Plan is the Way Forward What is the similarity between the offices of the world’s biggest and most successful businesses? What about arguably the world’s most creative and innovative companies? The main similarity you will see is the types of offices that their employees work within. They all may have different colors and layouts, but the truth of the matter is they all work within open-plan spaces. These are spaces that have limited walls separating spaces and embrace an open and airy culture. They often promote collaboration and teamwork because of their open and airy nature. What are the benefits of this office structure? Well, the main one is that it promotes higher productivity and creativity within its workforce. The reason behind this is because there are no real separated offices, people do no feel enclosed, and their office and workspace is open and free. This is subjective but this also symbolizes what this office design is doing. It is not limiting their thoughts and creativity to four walls, it is making their employees feel open, and at one with the business.   Although the benefits are great, this is not without saying that this type of office design comes with some disadvantages. One of the main ones is the lack of privacy. These types of offices usually do away with private offices, and everyone shares one space. This has been seen to often lead to higher stress-related illnesses within a companies workforce due to the lack of privacy, as some people prefer working that way. So, regardless of how you want to modernize the workspace for your business, always remember that there will be many advantages but keep an eye out for the disadvantages as well. Embracing Technology Along with being open workspaces, these workspaces also operate a high amount of technological enhancements too. Along with wifi and more emphasis on networking and connectivity for remote working and fixtures like a wifi temperature sensor, modern offices will be taking technology further. Technology is being seen to be fixing one of the biggest disadvantages of the open office space trend. A sector that has grown in popularity as networking has become more advanced, and people seek more seamless technology, is home automation. Opening your phone and clicking a button to pull the blinds down, or put the kettle on. All the way to press a button at the gate, and as it opens your house starts to change and adjust itself ready for you to enter the door. The kettle boiling, the lights on and dimmed for the evening, curtains drawn, TV on your favorite channel, the works. So, what does this have to do with modern workspaces? The future may lay in the world of workspace automation.   Picture this, a pod located inside an open-space office. It can be used as a meeting room, and then if someone else comes and it’s free, taps a few buttons and within a couple of seconds, the room becomes a group meeting space, or a private solo office, or a board room. The technology is already here, with glass that can frost and de-frost, switching from being private to open. We have the networking capabilities proven by the more and more advanced home automation systems that we can control using the smartphones in our pockets and tablets on the coffee table. This could add that need for privacy, whilst keeping the open-plan office space, alive. Technology gives us the tools to do that. Comfort and Work And that point leads nicely into this one, and that is why comfort has been the main focus for new collaborative workspaces that are in force today. If you have worked in offices of the ’80s and even the ’90s, the structure would normally entail rows and rows of desks and computers. Mutes colour schemes and a focus on function rather than form. However, today, if you walk into the corporate office of somewhere such as Google or a trendy new start-up, the picture is very different. It is far more reminiscent of the inside of a coffee shop, mixed with some play centers and a dashing of office space. The primary reason for this is to enhance comfort whilst working. If the employees are comfortable, then they will be more willing to work, produce high-quality work, and henceforth increase workspace productivity. All of the numbers have a financial benefit for the business in the long run, so these changes really are beneficial to implement. How will Data Impact Business Workspaces and Workplaces? Lastly, something that is really informing and making a huge impact on the way offices are built and used, is big data. Firms and companies around the world, are using more and more data taken from their employees to inform their workspace choices.   Something mentioned quite often in this article is productivity levels. This is a figure that a company would love to raise, as this means more work, quality work, for their money which means value. With the world that we live in today, with data being collected all the time from many different sources, expect more and more reliance on big data when companies want to make big decisions.   So, this is how many businesses are modernizing their workspaces. Although there is more and more reliance on technology, there is one topic that stays true through all of these modernization techniques, and that is human contact. The reason more and more people are using co-working spaces like WeWork and others is that even though they are using multiple forms of technology to finish their work, as humans we still crave contact. A quick chat at the coffee station, speaking to the barista, having a chat with those around you. No matter how much technology we have in our workspaces today, the importance of face to face contact has never changed and will not change going forward.

How Your Resume Accomplishments Can Land the Interview and Increase Your Salary

How Your Resume Accomplishments Can Land the Interview and Increase Your Salary Executive and mid-level job seekers can sometimes find it difficult to enumerate and express the value that they bring to a company. But defining your brand value is crucial for attracting recruiters, networking, interviewing, and negotiating salary. In this blog post we will  share why resume accomplishments can be a game-changer when you submit applications as well as tips on how to identify your career accomplishments, and brand them effectively on your resume. What are accomplishments? Accomplishments illustrate how your work has somehow enhanced the companies listed on your resume. These enhancements you’ve left for your prior employers, are the result of your skills being put to work. Skills without accomplishments, don’t speak highly to your abilities. Accomplishments do just that. They show how well your skills are developed by the results you have produced. The company that you want to work for is eager to hire someone who can get the job done well; someone who will go above and beyond the daily tasks and really show initiative. This is why accomplishments on a resume â€" in the form of company impact are so important for your professional brand. How accomplishments set you apart from your competition You’re in a competitive field which is creating an even more competitive job search. You are competing against hundreds of other qualified candidates and you are experiencing this first-hand by the lack of interview call-backs. If this is the case, the issue is that of your resume. It is not compelling enough and needs an accomplishments refresh. Your accomplishments are the proof that you can do your target job well â€" and even better than those with whom you’re competing. If you neglect to create strong resume accomplishments, your job search will suffer. Why accomplishments are important for recruiter and hiring manager conversations Accomplishments are your leverage in key hiring conversations. Recruiters will be seeking this information in the initial recruiter screen. If you pass the recruiter screen, the hiring manager and other key interviewers will be looking and listening for accomplishments as well. If you can’t provide clear and compelling proof in your resume of how your work has benefitted your past employers and be ready to discuss that with a recruiter or hiring managerthere goes your leverage. This is why resume accomplishments are so important. Without well-articulated accomplishments, your resume won’t even make it to or even past the initial recruiter screen. Who exactly needs strong accomplishments on the resume? Accomplishments are a must for executive resumes. The same goes for fifty-plus job searchers. Accomplishments are also important for mid-level professionals who aspire for the executive career track. If you are an early-career professional, you may not have the same level of accomplishments as an executive, but that does not mean you shouldn’t keep track of your brightest and best results. If you’re someone who is looking to advance your career now or in the future â€" strong accomplishments are a must! How to identify your career accomplishments and impact to enhance your resume As you review your job responsibilities over the years, ask yourself: Did you increase revenue? If so, how much? What specifically did you do to increase revenue? Did you improve any company processes? Did you make any operations or procedures more efficient? Did you hire powerful and talented personnel that surpassed expectations and goals? Did you transform/change any part of the organization’s structure or workflow and make the company more profitable? Did you save the organization money through contract negotiation? Hire more efficient contractors? Reduce waste? Add new technology? Did you expand or develop a business in any way? Asking yourself these questions can help you put down on paper what recruiters and the hiring team are desperate to hear from you. How impact can increase your earnings in the salary negotiation process It’s usually easy to describe your daily work because your tasks and responsibilities were defined for you when you were hired. But when you apply your skills, tools, and your business acumen to the work, you might have actually benefitted your team, division, and company in ways that the company didn’t experience before you arrived. This information can more than justify your salary and your ROI for the company. And it’s this information that can further justify your salary asks when it comes time for promotion, or counter-offer negotiation for a new job. If you cant name and detail impact and value-add in your resume, chances are you wont be able to do so in an interview. And there go your chances for salary negotiation and even hire. Excellent professional support and advice. They move very quickly and have a definitive strategy. My professional resume specialist Soozy was outstanding, and Noelle had excellent advice on how to conduct my search. The investment you make is worth every penny. Aaron, Legal Executive, NYC How resume accomplishments influence the hiring manager’s mindset The company that you want to work for is draining money while a position is vacant, and onboarding/training is expensive. The company has already spent time and money on finding you. And we won’t even go into how empty positions affect employee morale. A key to getting hired is making sure that your resume provides that clear and compelling proof that you will make the company more money than it takes to hire you. The less impact that you show on your resume, the less attractive you appear, and the hiring team will conclude the less likely you will be able to succeed. If you want to appear to be a fit, you need to include strong accomplishments. How your resume accomplishments will result in better job interviews If you show impact and value on your resume, your job interviews will be more interactive and more productive. The interview will be more of a 2-way conversation during which you’ll be able to assess the company just as the company is assessing you. Without accomplishments, the interview is more of an interrogation during which the interviewer asks for more clarification. How it works â€" what not to do For example, if the resume says, “Worked with sales department to increase revenue,”  the recruiter will have a lot of questions.  The first thing the recruiter is going ask is, “Were there any results from working with the sales department? By how much did you increase revenue? What was your role in increasing revenue? How exactly did you increase revenue?” As you can see â€" there are a lot of unanswered questions that this simple resume bullet produces. If a recruiter has that many questions, you might be lucky to even land an interview in the first place. Generic resume statements such as this, leave too much open for interpretation, and the last thing you want is an interpretation that results in you NOT getting called in for an interview. How it works â€" what to do If the resume says, “Increased revenue 30% in one year by hiring sales managers to oversee crucial territories”   now you are telling the hiring personnel EXACTLY what  you did and more importantly that you are more than capable of getting the job done. Accomplishments listed like this, are likely to be impressive enough to land an interview. Then, in the interview, the recruiter might say, “Yes, we changed management in our Northeast Division because it was a crucial region.”  And then you can both further discuss your experiences. Compared to the first example, a candidate with this level of detail in his/her resume detail is more likely to land the interview. Accomplishments will create a more effortless job search If you start looking for accomplishments by asking targeted questions, you will be amazed at how much you have achieved. Once you have discovered your professional value you can use it to your advantage in a multitude of career scenarios. Companies want to know why they should hire you as opposed to one of your colleagues. If you promote your impact and your professional value properly, it will be obvious why the company should hire you.
